Polina Chernovolenko pch182c2df — Because...I am a dancer!!! Dancers come in all shapes, sizes and ages. If you are a dancer, you are always a dancer! This book captures that truth perfectly. I LOVE this book!
Irene Shih ireneshih — got this book as a gift, from a very wierd classmate in 8th grade. i dident know at the time that its wierd to give gifts, and then books, at that age. but its a weird book, and those were weird times. in the world of 70's feel better via meta-physics and new ago psychobabble this stands out, in that ive read it.
Dan Stratton dapperdan10 — I enjoyed Emma and while it is no Pride and Prejudice (in my opinion) I thought it was very entertaining. The characters were a bit less likeable and the plot a little more frivolous. The main romance of Emma and Mr. Knightly was too understated until the last chapters and came more out of the blue so there was no satisfying build to a coupling of two people who until that point had either abhorred one another or were at least not romantic. As well, there were points where the rigidness of their etiquette was stifling- like English Confucianism. Emma is definitely a book to be read, and one to be enjoyed, but it does not hold a special place in my heart like Austin's Pride and Prejudice.
Fiona Koekemoer _iona_oekemoer — wow, this book brings back memories of 5th grade :) it's a cool story, but a bit slow and slightly depressing. well written, but i don't think i would recommend it highly.
Mengyang Zhu 56217867576fe — My rating: 2.5 stars out of 5 "It's taking all my self control not to fuck you on the hood of this car right now, just to show you that you are mine, and if I want to buy you a fucking car, I'll buy you a fucking car." ~Christian Grey Oh Ms. James... ***MILD SPOILERS*** Hmm, ok...Christian Grey, my one and only saving grace in this book. I was really expecting to enjoy this book much more than I did. I simply had to know what all the fuss was about and to be honest, I'm still wondering. Anyone who knows me or reads this blog knows I am no prude. I love my smut just as much as the next girl. That being said, I couldnt see this book as anything but and unfortunately, even that fell flat for me more times than not. I've enjoyed many books that aren't much more than fluffy smut. I take them for what they are and enjoy. Unfortunately, I had a hard time doing that with this book because the issues I have completely overshadowed everything else. You may read the remainder of my review at http://prufreads.blogspot.com/2012/07...
Sports Templates _ports_emplates — ** spoiler alert ** This is one of my favorite books from Nicholas Sparks. My favorite quote was: "And for the briefest instant, it almost feels like we're together again." AND "If you break your promise, you'll break my heart." All in all, it is a terrific love story to read. I really enjoyed it. It had the perfect ending, one that I kept on thinking and thinking, even though it was kind of bittersweet.
Asa Wong asawong — Another great Kate Daniels book! Once again the fate of Atlanta is in Kate's hands. We get more character development with Andrea after her shifter status is exposed and she is forced to come to terms with the fact that she is not human. All this while facing descrimination and the loss of The Order that she built her life around. We learn more about Kate's family history and interesting life altering facts are revealed. Kate continues to improve and expand her skills and builds new alliances. I hope she works with the witches more in the future to broaden her magick. The little reveal at the end has me very excited for the next book!
孙 海明 sunhaiming — Well, before reading this book, I read a lot of pretty ugly reviews and was really apprehensive about reading it, but decided to give it a try. It wasn't as bad as many reviews made it out to be, but I have to say, I was looking forward to it ending, and it is very likely I will not go on and read the sequels. One positive I must say is that Lauren Kate writes beautiful prose. Some of the sentences were like chocolate marshmallows to my brain, sweet and fluffy, but in a good way. The problem, though, was that it felt like it seemed to take forever to anything to really happen in this book,,, and as soon as it did, it was over! I just didn't really believe the relationship between Luce and Daniel. yes, I know he is an angel and all, what's to believe? But, as a reader, I should be feeling what Luce is feeling, attraction, desire, passion and nope, didn't feel any of it. So, all in all, not a horrible book, and I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed the prose, but think the story needed a bit more development. Maybe Kate will give that to us in the next two books, but I won't be reading them anyway.
Rita Canto ritacanto — Anxious to read this book that my brother, Roger suggests. Being from New Orleans and hearing the convincing pleads from Jim Garrison regarding the assassination of JFK, and the associations of Clay Shaw, Carlos Marcello, Jack Ruby and Lee Harvey Oswald along with many other "valid" reasons the FBI keeps from the world public - Our tax dollars working against us since 1960's! Roger believes Joan Melon discovered or uncovered volumes and truck loads of information and research by Jim Garrison that the government denies us the truth! There are a couple of other books that he suggests also: Dr. Mary's Monkeys by Edward T Haslom and Behold A Pale Horse by William Cooper.
